when we can

we went to the park for a walk on our one full day together this week and violet didn't want to leave. she was screaming her head off and terribly unhappy about being put in the car seat. ross gave her a wagon wheel to eat and she calmed down. we were driving home and, after a few minutes, i noticed it was too quiet in the backseat - she'd fallen asleep. it was only 11:30 and she usually naps at 1pm. so we drove around for an hour and a half, just talking about stuff and looking at the mountains. we don't get to do that enough, just talk and hold hands. but we do so when we can.

ross leaves for dallas on tuesday for a meeting. it's going to be a long week for me and v.

laying on the loveseat with grace curled up next to me, watching tyler florence make the ultimate mac 'n cheese. it's a gray day in east tennessee, will probably rain later. violet, up since 4 am and full of restless energy, using a bottle cap from a water bottle to "scoop up" grace and drink her - never mind the white fur in her mouth that she'll never get out on her own.
